Graphite, Rubber Erasers and Steel Rulers

There are piles of drawings in piles all over the studio. Graphite, rubber erasers, steel rulers and big sheets of layout paper are essential tools of the artist. Big statues will be the result of these sketches. They’re like mental notes in a two dimensional form. I forgot the charcoal, compressed as it is, I love it’s soft edged black lines. One of my college professor hated compressed sticks of charcoal.  I couldn’t quite grasp why, but each to their own.  This project is water based although bronze is shot through it. I’m off to the studio to explore my imagination.
