I couldn’t find words yesterday regarding Barbaro. Today I haven’t found the words either.
Finally this evening I asked my husband where I could find inspirational words for what I felt; he told me I may find it in William Faulkner speech when he accepted the Nobel Prize.
I believe that man will not merely endure: he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance.
We see in this horse the possibilities in ourselves. Godspeed Barbaro.
